My 3 Favorite Evangelistic Pep Talks Found on YouTube

It is a personal goal of mine for this coming year to step out of my comfort zone and complacency and become more confident and bold about sharing my faith. Jesus Christ is amazing! I've been convicted of how selfish I've been keeping what I know about Him to myself. I'm sure many can agree, rejection and the possibility of being offensive can be scary, but there is nothing better in the whole wide world than seeing someone come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. There is nothing better than seeing someone delivered from the bondage of sin and set free from the snares of Satan. There is nothing better than seeing someone transformed, made into a new creation in Christ Jesus, just as we ourselves have experienced. There is nothing better than witnessing someone surrender and get saved! ("Saved" from what?!? You ask. Click here to find out.) All of this makes stepping out and evangelizing worth it! A couple of my favorite verses that encourage me in evangelizing are:

  •  2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
  • Matthew 10:28 Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

  • 1 Peter 3:13-15 Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.” But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect...

As followers of Christ, the word of God commands us to be sharing the gospel, our faith:

  •  Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
  • Romans 10:13-17 “For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our message?” Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.

The part that I love is that we don't have to do this work all on our own but Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to us to be our helper! Someone once told me that "for as many different people that there are in the world, there are that many different ways to minister and evangelize". We can certainly learn from the different ways Jesus did things during his ministry here on earth recorded in the Bible, but we can also observe in the bible the ministries of people just like us, such as Paul who was empowered by the Holy Spirit and able to accomplish much for the Lord's glory and making him known.

It is good for me to be reminded that we can accomplish next to nothing apart from the help of the Holy Spirit. We can "save" no one. We didn't "save" ourselves. For God said to Moses, "I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion", as seen in the Old Testament as well as the New. It is by the Lord's sovereign election that any of us are saved, and by his timing. Now that we are believers, We proclaim. The Holy Spirit explains.

  • John 6:44 “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day."
  • Ephesians 1:4 He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him In love.
  • John 15:16 You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.

Evangelizing can seem a pretty weighty, heady, and daunting task, but I'm learning that it doesn't have to be if we approach it in the right heart. Today I am going to share with you a selection of videos about evangelizing that are some of my most favorite videos made available on Youtube. Listen to these men as they share how they go about sharing their faith and perhaps be ready to take notes! A wide spectrum from the most reformed to quite charismatic, I hope the messages of these men leave you feeling encouraged and super excited about sharing your faith. Anyone can do it!
