- Blogmas Day One . Last Normal Day of Rehearsal For The Year ! -
Blogmas Day One
Considering today is only the first day of the month (yay!), I think it would be safe and accurate for me to say that: I believe today has been the HARDEST day of the whole month so far!!! But seriously! Besides the fact that today is the first day of the month of December, and our last normal day of rehearsing our Christmas rep. before going out to perform for the rest of the month, not much Christmas cheer was to be had today. It wasn't a bad day. It was just LONG and PHYSICAL, but good.
The trainees have already started their Christmas performing season and on mornings when they have to perform and they are not available to clean the Ballet Magnificat studios, I and another company member do it for them. It is a good way to make a couple extra dollars but can be a lot of hard work. Let's just say there is a lot of floor to be covered when sweeping the floors in a dance studio!
This morning my alarm clock went off at 5:30 am. I left the house at 6:30am for the dance studio to clean it for 2 hours, then my normal dance day commenced. After a time of worship and devotions unto Jesus, at 10:30am we took our hour and a half long ballet class which was followed by rehearsing ALL our Christmas rep all afternoon which included a shortened version of Most Incredible Christmas, Light Has Come, and the four pieces we will be presenting in a Christmas production next weekend being put on by a local church here in town called Crossgates. It was a lot of dancing, but knowing that it's Friday was the hope that got me through!
After dance, I was scheduled to assist my dear friend Elisa with more cleaning of a house through her housekeeping business. Gotta save up extra money for the trip to Israel I will be taking in February! It took us nearly two and a half hours to clean the house. We finished at 7:30pm and by that time my body was SO SORE!
The day could not have finished any better though! Elisa, Catherine, and I (The cleaning team) finished our day with having dinner together with spring rolls. We had a jolly good time and the spring rolls were delicious!
If you've made it to the end of this post, thank you for reading! I know this is not the most Christmasy Blogmas blog post but I will leave you with this beautiful poem about friendship to warm your heart. In this season of gift-giving, let us not take for granted our friendships. May we recognize this season, how much of a gift each of our friendships are, in and of themselves.

Nothing like a fresh meal and friends to help you recover from a LONG day! |

EVERYONE NEEDS SOMEONE
by Helen Steiner Rice
People need people and friends need friends,
And we all need love for a full life depends-
Not on vast riches or great acclaim,
Not on success or on worldy fame,
But just in knowing that someone cares,
And holds us close in their thoughts and prayers-
For only the knowledge that we're understood,
Makes everyday living feel wonderfully good,
And we rob ourselves of life's greatest need,
When we "lock up our hearts" and fail to heed,
The outstretched hand reaching to find,
A kindred spirit whose heart and mind,
Are lonely and longing to somehow share,
Our joys and sorrows and to make us aware,
That life's completeness and richness depends,
On the things we share with our loved ones,
and friends.
And we all need love for a full life depends-
Not on vast riches or great acclaim,
Not on success or on worldy fame,
But just in knowing that someone cares,
And holds us close in their thoughts and prayers-
For only the knowledge that we're understood,
